Income Tax search at SRK’s office, Preity Zinta summoned by court
The financial deals of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is under investigation and as such income tax officials conducted search operations at the offices of the Bengal Cricket Association and Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders this Wednesday and Thursday and the officials have claimed that they have found substantial evidence of illegitimate transactions. The search began at 3 pm on Wednesday at both the board’s office at the Eden Gardens stadium and the premises of Kolkata Knight Riders and its parent Red Chillies Entertainment of actor Shah Rukh Khan at ITC Sonar Bangla and continued till early hours of Thursday.The 10 franchisees under scrutiny are Kochi’s Rendezvous Sports, Pune’s Sahara group, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Deccan Chargers, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab.
Meanwhile, the promoters of Kings XI Punjab have been summoned by the Chandigarh District magistrate on the 27th of this month. The team is part-owned by actor Preity Zinta. The Registrar of Companies (RoC) in Chandigarh has complained that the team`s promoters are not sharing their balance sheets or details of their accounts.
