Freida Pinto is not one to shy away from a grand gesture. "As my friends and family are quick to remind me, I have always been a big drama queen," Pinto, 26, recalls over breakfast in a Midtown hotel suite. "As a child, I would stand in front of the mirror and pretend I was this or that person from television. All I needed to do was realize it and recognize what I wanted to do."

Dev insists on seeing Freida as the Bond Girl
Freida Pinto’s lover Dev Patel insists that he would love to see Freida to be a part of the super-spy series though she has dismissed reports of playing the next Bond Girl.
“She is stunning. There have been rumours about her being a Bond girl on the next film. I would love her to get the role, she’d be amazing,” Patel was quoted as saying.
Pinto had earlier admitted that she’s too “young” to be a part of ‘Bond 23′, which will be helmed by filmmaker Sam Mendes.
But would Patel ever like to step into the shoes of the British agent and play the 25-year-old beauty’s on-screen lover once again?
“I’m not sure I could ever play 007 though. I’m too much of a wimp,” said Patel, who had starred alongside Pinto in Slumdog Millionaire.
Priyanka Chopra replaced by Freida
Priyanka Chopra is a determined girl who knows where her roots are.
Recently she turned down a Hollywood project. She was offered a chance to play an important role in the Hollywood film, “Dawn of War”. Priyanka dates did not match and so she chose to stick to her Bollywood flick “Saat Khoon Maaf” over the Hollywood Project.
Director Tarsem Singh signed on Freida Pinto after Priyanka turned the film down. Freida will be starring opposite British actor Henry Cavill.
Priyanka’s loss is Freida’s gain.
Freida denies Bond-girl offer
Actress Freida Pinto has denied that she was approached by director Sam Mendes to play the lead in his next Bond movie
opposite Daniel Craig.
Freida’s official spokesperson in a statement said, “I would like to confirm that as of today, Freida Pinto has not been approached to be part of the next Bond film.”
“It is of course very flattering to even be rumoured to be part of a Bond film but she has certainly not been approached for the role of the next Bond girl opposite Daniel Craig as yet,” he added.
Freida is currently out of the country working on her forthcoming projects which include, Julian Schnabel’s Miral, Woody Allen’s You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger and Tarsem Singh’s Dawn of War.

English director Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road) will be directing the 23rd installment of the Bond franchise which has been written by Peter Morgan ("The Queen"), which suggests that - aside from the inevitable mindblowing action sequences, car chases and gratuitous shots of Craig's bare chest, the movie should be a clever, provocative piece of work.
The as-yet-untitled Bond film is not due out until 2011, but in the meantime Pinto has two other films due out this year: Miral directed by Julian Schnabel, the filmmaker behind the incredible 2007 film The Diving Bell And The Butterfly. She also has a role in Woody Allen's You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger - signifying that Woody has moved on from his pervy obsession with Scarlett Johansson to another gorgeous starlet. Bless.
