But he was suffering from Cancer.You might have heard his song already in Facebook, which is one of highest shared/liked video of 2010. So coming to his story, he was studying in one of top graduate engineering college, he was handsome but the girl who he loved unconditionally never returned his love. So bad. But worse, he was suffering from Cancer. He wrote a song and dedicated to her. Made video of it and the worst happened, he died just after recording the song.
Really sad right ? The song is so awesome. Runs though our veins with feeling of Love. Emptiness, describes, the void left in his loving heart by his girl. Pretty sad story if you ask me. The guy now loved and remembered everyday by millions over Facebook and Twitter, is no more. Sad. I sob.

Yes, it was the insensitive and cheap trick for marketing their song. But, they did it in right way.
1.What first comes to your mind when you hear the song and read about him ? LOVE, CANCER, IIT-G. We Indians, simply have inevitable attraction towards Love stories. Add some prestigious college name and make it sad story, Game Over.
2.They believed in their song and it is pretty good too, but too reach masses, they used nice [read : cheap] marketing trick.
3. Simple, just create a fake girl’s profile over Facebook [and Twitter] and share it, it is enough to reach thousands in one day. And don’t forget to add, “Oh, I liked this song like anything guys, what ya say ?”
When you ask Mr.Vivek aka MrVivekchocoboy, the original uploader of the video, tells you same lame story. He also requests you ‘Like’ the song and share it over the FB and Twitter. Now I see a new video on his profile, hope he doesn’t ask us to ‘share’ that one also over FB, coming up with just another pathetic but sad story. Goodluck Mr.Chocoboy.
IIT-G students clarified that, person with such name never existed nor his poor sad story. If it was really true, I’d have first seen it in Headlines Today or any national news paper. The song is too good enough to be appeared in national news channels and papers.

Important Update [08/02/2011] : Today evening I received a very harsh & disturbing comment from a girl who claimed she was from IIT-G and Rohan’s classmate. She used such hard words, I couldn’t believe myself that a girl could scold like this. Trust me, even Dolly wouldn’t have scolded me like this. But she was so stupid that, she thought(?), she could cheat me, I tracked her down in 3 secs [Thanks to Facebook], guess what, in her profile the college was mentioned something different and it was HE [not she !]. May be he was obsessed with the song very much, so left a rude message scolding me. But, but he gave me link and picture of Rohan Rathore !!!
It was a link from Reverbnation, a website, just similar as MySpace. Musicians/Artists can sign up and share their songs. There I found his photo and his two other songs !!!

The name of member of that group is Djay, who is also admin and creator of Facebook page Emptiness (tune mere jaana)- Rohan Rathore. And it is a Band profile. Are these guys are people who gave music to Rohan’s song ? Has Rohan worked is their band ? If not why they using his name ? They have mentioned nothing in their FB page.
The Admin of that Page, has not revealed himself yet and nor made clear statements about his connections with Rohan Rathore. If they are not connected with him why they are using his name ? for fame ?

To counter the Rohan Rathore story, Verma will be releasing the complete album with six songs next month, and has already posted the song on YouTube, with a slideshow of his pictures. “I had composed the tune for a project one-and-a-half years ago. I had sent the song to some people for feedback, and I think it got leaked then,” says Verma.
Reacting to allegations that he and Aseem cooked up this story to publicise the song and increase downloads, he says, “Why would I publicise my song using someone else’s name?” He adds, “I feel really bad when I see someone else’s name on my song. I don’t even know how Rohan Rathore’s name got attached to it. I know that the voice is mine.” Aseem Abbasee, the lyricist, says he is unaware about the Rohan Rathore story. “I wrote this song when Gajendra approached me for it. Its unfortunate that it got stolen and people attached a false story with it.”
Shortly after the song became popular, fans got curious. Sumit Lal wrote, “I finally dug out the story. No one at IIT-G knows who Rathore is.” “People like the song because of the story behind it,” read another comment.

I am not asking you to trust these two guys, but what wonders me is The Admin still hasn’t intervened. He could have said the story is true. So makes me believe that the Admin has no connection with Rohan Rathore and using his name.

We hear that Khan’s proud parents were insistent on getting Zaheer married. Like an obedient son, Khan has agreed to it.

L'Oreal drops Aishwarya, opts for Freida!
International cosmetic giant L'Oreal Paris has surprisingly dropped Aishwarya Rai Bachchan from their 2011 global 'Happy New Year' commercial.
While Aishwarya is the only international brand ambassador to be dropped from the new campaign, L'Oreal dropped a second bomb by roping in Freida Pinto, Hollywood's Indian flavour of the season, in the commercial.
The brand's international ambassadors include Jane Fonda, Diane Kruger, Beyonce Knowles, Claudia Schiffer, Milla Jovovich, Patrick Dempsey, Rachel Weisz, Laeticia Casta, Evangeline Lilly and Gerard Butler.
All of them feature in the new campaign except Aishwarya, who was roped in by the company in 2005 as one of its global spokesmodels.
While L'Oreal Paris representatives in India couldn't be reached for a comment, the buzz doing the rounds is that the prestigious cosmetic brand has plans to rope in Freida as their new global spokesmodel from India.
The commercial, which has been uploaded on L'Oreal Paris' French site, features the brand's spokesmodels delivering hard sell lines in French and English.
Freida incidentally gets as much screen space as the other stars.
When contacted, Aishwarya's spokesperson claimed to be unaware of the matter. "I don't know anything about it. We need to check out the details," she said, adding: " Ash is busy with her upcoming performance at an awards function, so she can't speak on this issue right away." Interestingly, Ash along with Hollywood diva Eva Longoria, has been a regular at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet over the past few years as the cosmetic brand's spokesmodel.
Many in Bollywood feel the brand's disinterest in Ash could have to do with the fact that she hasn't been very active on the international front of late.
"She needs to be seen more in the West to get new work there. She needs to keep the excitement level going about her. Freida has been constantly in the global limelight in recent times. That could be a reason," says a Bollywood filmmaker who has worked with Ash.
Right now, Freida is clearly the exotic flavour of the season in the West. "Also you can't deny the fact that at 37, Aishwarya is no longer as young as she used to be. For westerners, she isn't probably as much a draw as she was about five years ago. Now, Freida has caught their imagination," says a media analyst.

It writes: "Freida, India's very own million dollar baby, has gone from strength to strength, be it upcoming international films or building her reputation as the young fashionista across the globe. Star Screen 2010 Awards Fraud
So the 2011 bollywood award season has begun and it has already bagged its first casualty. The prestigious Screen Awards conducted by Screen Weekly held a poll for a special category of awards called the Popular Choice Awards which they started in 2009. One of the categories was the Most Popular Male Actor and after a week of polling, Ranbir Kapoor was the clear winner by a handsome margin; but sadly Screen could not honor the public mandate. They instead chose to hand over the award to Shahrukh Khan because Ranbir was unavailable to attend the award function owing to his busy schedule. All we ask of Screen is maybe they should have shown the total votes polled for everyone to see if they wanted to pick the winner by themselves in the end anyways. Maybe next time they will be more careful.
The pic was taken a few hours post the award just to validate my point.
And Screen Awards want a feedback on their show, we would love to remind them of the ridiculous booboo they committed this year; so that they can be more careful with their rigging next time.
