So, Baumbach wrote the script for The Emperor’s Children based on Claire Messud’s 2006 best-selling novel of the same name.
It’s been already named as a story “of fate and fortune, of innocence and experience, seduction and self-invention; of ambition, including literary ambition; of glamour, disaster, and promise.”
Actually, as we mentioned, it is a story about three friends and their lives in NYC, so we have Marina Thwaite, the daughter of Murray Thwaite, celebrated intellectual and journalist, finishig her first book, and her two closest friends – Danielle a quietly appealing television producer, and Julius, a cash-strapped freelance critic.
This is a trio of Brown University graduates who are approaching their 30s with trepidation as they struggle to realize the lofty expectations held for their personal and professional lives.
